Welcome to my online art gallery !
I was born 16 February 1983 in Vasa, Finland. I live with my husband and four children, and my painting studio is right in the middle of the house, next to my childrens bedroom .
I have been painting ever since I was a child, growing up in an artistic environment, my father being a full time artist . The smell of oil paint is loaded with love and safety for me .
I studied in art schools between 2003-2007
In Porvoo, Kokkola, Lahti and St Petersburg .
Then I had my children and continued painting and exhibiting but dropped out of school .
In 2012 I started tattooing in our combined tattoo studio and beauty salon Beauty Bay in the center of Vaasa with a great team that still stick together today . I love tattooing and it's a great passion for me , being able to create art for people on their skin is very personal and a great responsibility and honor . Tattooing is like being an artist , psychologist, architect , designer and technically skilled, all at the same time ! :-)
My goal and dream has been for a long time , to pursue both a tattooing and a painting career simultaneously. Now that my children are 16,14,5 and 3 I suddenly find myself being able to spend time in the painting studio we built in our house .
It takes a lot of planning with a big family , but with a burning desire at heart , it's totally doable !
I paint mainly in oils , but I also love watercolor and that's my go to technique when I'm traveling , which I do as often as I can . Traveling always shifts your perspective on your life , enriching your senses and creates great memories .
Right now I'm working on finding my true artistic voice , as I can't say I'm the same painter today as I was 15 years ago when I dropped out of art school . Now , I'm finding my own ways to get the education that I'm hungry for , looking up those artists and mentors that I need for my creative journey .
Painting is my paradise , and every day in the studio brings me great pleasure and joy , and of course challenge. I constantly challenge myself , exploring what my artistic voice is trying to say - it's all an adventure .
